Every thing is connected, all life is part of the whole. Relax and feel the connectedness of the trees, the rocks, the animals, te fish, the grasses, the creepy crawlers and the invisible life with the world of man. Help others to connect also.

Find a way to make every situation better. Find a way to make the
negative positive and find a way to find good in all you meet. Find a
way to even make illness a chance to do good. By doing so you will
change the world!

Do you say hello to Grandfather Rock? or Tree? Do you ask permission before walking on our brothers the grasses? Do you greet and be greeted by the bird tribs and offer them your joy? Do you rejoice at the winds who caress you and move the necessary rains to you? Do you marvel at the hills, valleys , sand dunes, rivers and streams which our Mother has placed around for our enjoyment and use? Do you see complex and fascinating worlds among the insects, creepy crawlers and invisible ones who coexist with you? Do you see the animals not as food sources or dangers but as your brothers and sisters who also serve you even as they depend on you for their continued existance. Then you are close to wisdom.

"One of your Ancestors joined in the battle to end slavery in this nation. However slavery still exists here for women, children and the poor. We fought the white people for over 250 years to prevent them from from taking and selling the lands we were entrusted to care for. We took their word when we quite fighting and gave our word we would fight no more. However their word was as false as all their other dealings with us. The people of the United states hold only one thing sacred, that is money. We try to teach them but they refuse to see the sacredness of people, places and animals."

"Every thing you have owns you. they make you afraid to use them in case they will decrease in value. You must guard them so that someone else will not take them. They give cold satisfaction but no lasting enjoyment. Every key on your key chain weighs you down even more. Until you have so many keys you are no longer human."

What have you bought, used, thrown away or wated of Mothers precious
storehouse of riches? Could this world of plastic, smoldering cities and
greed be made simpler just by thinking what do I need this for and how
will it affect the next seven generations?

It is only reasonable that the younger take what they have been taught and change it into something better. They have become the elders who must think of the next seven generations.

I was taught by many elders that the first thing they ask when some one comes to them is.
Who are you? Who or what do you think of yourself.
Where are you from? Both the community and/or the family you are from.
Why are you here? Both the reason for coming to the elder and your perceived purpose in life.
Grand mother added the following to those three.
What are you doing about it? What you are doing to heal yourself or whatever you came to the elder for.
I added one more.
How will what your doing affect the next seven generations?

Even if your not going to a elder it would serve you well to ask the five questions to yourself every so often.

A warrior is not honored for how many enemy he kills. He is not honored for the number of enemy he captures or disables. So why is a warrior called not just a fighter but a warrior? It is because he/she stands for right, for women, for the weak, for the elders and the children. He/she stands for honor, truth & justice even if it cast him/her their own life.
What are you a warrior or a fighter? Someone who speaks up for and shields the weak or just another fighter? It's your choice.

It doesn't matter if you believe or not. It doesn't matter if you have been living a good life or a bad one. Connecting to the inner wisdom and source of what you really are does matter. It doesn't matter if you call it prayer or meditation. What matters is that you do it as a regular part of your life. What matters is that you learn both from your triumphs and your mistakes.
