Jan. 24th. 2012

I remember the first time I sat in council at 13. The person who called the council, though I forget it' purpose now, spoke first. I remember her telling what the problem was and asking for help in resolving it. Slowly each of us in the room gave our understanding of the problem until after four rounds and we were ready to say consensus has not been reached. I was the next to last person to speak when I had a idea. As it came my turn I asked the one person who was blocking why he was doing so. It turned out he was afraid the he would have to help with the cost. Also turned out the village had extra money set aside for such emergencies. Once that was understood, consensus was reached and we finished the business. I had remembered one of the lessons from a few days before. If you disagree on something, obviously one of you is asking the wrong question. I thought of this because of a question someone asked me a couple of days ago. Hope it helps someone. Remember sometimes the person you need to ask a new question to might be you.
